Dallas Braden is an American baseball pitcher with the Oakland Athletics Major League Baseball Team. He was born in Phoenix Arizona in 1983. He started playing baseball in little league when he was a child. He went to Texas Tech College. He has had a promising career with the Oakland Athletics.

With the playoffs just around the corner, there are an abundance of stories heating up around Major League Baseball.
Perhaps the biggest story in baseball is what is taking place in Washington, as the Nationals are preparing to shut down star pitcher Stephen Strasburg for the season after just two more starts. The Nationals currently have the best record in baseball and seem to be preparing to head into October without their ace. Strasburg has started 27 games this season and currently has a 15-6 record. This year has been an up and down year for some teams, making the standings look a little bit skewed from what they actually should be. The American League is tight in every division, including the East even though the Yankees look like the dominant team by far in that division. The White Sox and Detroit have been back and forth all year in the Central Division, with the Twins looking just as terrible now as when they started the year. The race for the 2012 baseball postseason is becoming clearer as the regular season reaches its climax. Many of the teams that have been regulars in the postseason over the last few years are aiming for a trip to the World Series; a number of teams that have been out of contention in recent years look to be heading to the 2012 postseason.
