Dallas Braden is an American baseball pitcher with the Oakland Athletics Major League Baseball Team. He was born in Phoenix Arizona in 1983. He started playing baseball in little league when he was a child. He went to Texas Tech College. He has had a promising career with the Oakland Athletics.
Everything went well up until April of 2011 when he hurt his shoulder. He had surgery on his left shoulder and did not pitch the rest of the year. The surgery did not go as well as planned. A second surgery was done August 27th of this year. The second surgery was to repair a torn rotator cuff. Now he has a long recovery ahead of him with no guarantees that he will be able to play again. He is under contract with the Oakland Athletics. He is still receiving his $3,350,000 salary. Only time will tell if he gets to play again.
Dallas Braden has won a Community Service Award in Stockton for collecting and distributing food to the needy. He donates money and time to charity. He is also a participant in Little League Baseball. He is a firm believer in giving back to the community and this has made him popular in his community.
